We are DOSH.
As a team, we are targeting students aged 16-18 regarding money management. Money is a developing issue for students and we hope to help them distinguish between essential and non-essential items, therefore, teaching them how to manage their money whilst still enjoying themselves.
Our Project was initially created in order to enter a UK wide competition called The Money for Life Challenge. This entailed our team competing in Welsh and UK finals, both of which we went on to win. As part of our winning project, we hosted a talk at a local school in front of 300 students about their finances and how we could help them. This was followed by an event hosted at our place of work, whereby, students were given money management talk by the University of South Wales, Careers Wales and Acorn Learning Solutions.
Since winning The Money for Life Challenge, our project has only expanded and our line of work has now branched out into universities as well as schools. We are continuously looking for ways to help improve the financial knowledge of everyone in our local community and will continue to do so at every opportunity.
