The Money for Life Challenge is a UK wide competition aimed at supplying team of 18-24 year olds with grants to run a project regarding improving money management in their local community. The most inspiring and impactful projects progress to the National finals and the UK Grand Final, with great prizes on offer.
Money for Life is Lloyds Banking Group’s award-winning personal money management programme, focussed on equipping communities across the UK with the skills and capabilities they need to make the most of their money. Lloyds has invested £8million in the programme to date and is committed to helping Britain prosper through the programme until at least 2017.
Money for Life has been recognised in each year 2012-2014 by Business in the Community and received a Big Tick in their Awards for Excellence. In addition, the programme was shortlisted for the overall Building Stronger Communities Award in 2014.

On the 1st September 2014, the application stage opens to everyone and teams can apply for more than 300 Grants to assist their project. On the 21st November 2014, the application stage closed and by the 28th November 2014 teams knew if they had been successful. Grants to fund projects were released on 5th December 2014.
Teams had until the 6th March 2015 to run their project, be that through hosting events or presentations at schools. by this date, teams must have submitted their projects and everything it entailed. on the 13th March 2015, all of the National Finalists were announced and informed of what they must do before attending their respective final. All National finals were run in the same format, with teams performing their presentation twice, once in front of judges and once in front of an audience. All teams also had to hold a stall for everyone in attendance to learn about their projects. |
By the end of April 2015, all Nationals finals had been completed and teams progressing to the Grand final in London had been notified.
On 28th May 2015, all teams travelled to the Money for Life Grand final, hosted at the James Bond in motion exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden, London. The Grand final was run in the same format as the National finals, with a stall being held by each team, followed by two presentations. There were two prizes on offer, a 'People's Prize' award, this was voted for by everyone in attendance at the event after stalls had been held. Followed by the overall 'Money for Life UK Grand Final Winners 2015'. The overall 'Money for Life UK Grand Final Winners 2015' was announced as DOSH: Defining Our Spending Habits. |
